Karen Foster, Connie Michael and Nancy Standlee have been painting together for many years in watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, torn paper collage and oil. We each have personal websites and teach various classes. This isn't a new collaboration but a new design concept.
was formed and our first collaborative painting was an old truck with each artist painting a square. Our paintings are in private and corporate collections.
We collaborated on a three panel 4'x6' canvas panels of torn paper collage for a corporate client in the area.
The completed star was unveiled on September 17, 2015 at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington, TX and will be installed in December somewhere in the city for 3 years and then auctioned off. It is an art project for Arlington: The American Dream City as a public art project in conjunction with the Arlington Museum of Art and the design reflects the city through our eyes. This star was painted by Canvas by Canvas.
Size 6'x6'x1'deep. The design is painted on both sides.
2015 Nest Among the Stars
Karen, Connie and Nancy decided they would collaborate on a 2nd star after painting on the very detailed star above, the Kaleidoscope. After many meetings, research and painting samples, created this design and were so pleased with the outcome and felt the design would translate well onto canvas. We completed our first 48"x48" inch canvas October 9, 2015. We have purchased 2 more 48" canvases and 3 30"x48" so watch this site for our coming pieces.
